Vulnerability is quite often the missing piece between “sales” and “lots of sales.” With a personal brand, you HAVE to be vulnerable. I would say especially in our current era of marketing we’re in, but I think it’s always been true.
But most of my clients don’t always want to give out a bunch of personal information or private stories…not even because they’re afraid, but because they’ve gotten abusive responses and major cancelation when they’ve done so in the past.
I know personally, when I started my “vulnerability journey” on social media, I was WAY oversharing a lot of personal details about my family, my childhood, my upbringing, all of this.
Not necessary.
Over the years, I’ve found you can be vulnerable in other ways, and still maintain your safety (and whatever information you’d like to keep for just you).
